The SwiMP3 is the swimming MP3 player that I use and the one that I recommend to all of my friends. It seems like the guys working over at Finis really know what they are doing and they have a desire to improve their product. The original was created in 2004 but Finis has already come out with a couple new models of the SwiMP3 since then. The latest model of the SwiMP3 came out in the fall of 2009 and is called the SwiMP3.1G.
The technology that the SwiMP3 currently uses is that new technology I mentioned that transmits the sound using bone conduction. This means that the sound is transferred from the player to the cheek bone and then to the inner ear. The sound from this waterproof MP3 player is not actually carried through the air or water, which can make sound "murky". This may sound weird, but the SwiMP3 is unbelievable.
This newest model of the SwiMP3 swim MP3 player has a capacity of 1GB. If you are familiar with the size of MP3 files you will realize that this is plenty of room for your music. You can store dozens of hours of music so your swim workouts will go uninterrupted.
I am so happy with my SwiMP3 that I can't really see how to improve it. Of course, we could all use more memory capacity, but that will come in time as memory gets cheaper and cheaper
Here are the SwiMP3 swim MP3 player features:
- Very easily attached to your swim goggles or snorkeling mask
- Control panel to control the MP3 player
- Of course, there is an on/off switch and volume control
- Change tracks (forward/backward) with an easy to reach button
- 8-hour rechargeable battery
- 1GB memory
- Drag & Drop - this is so you can have more control over the music put on the player. Don't depend on synching software that just never works as it should.
- Works with PCs and Macs
- USB
